I immediately stated that the Lord, sent me on "assignment" to bring an offense the the conference attenders, specifically the Leaders who were there. And how they have been vying for position and status in the eyes of the world and Christendom. That a lot of the people (leaders) were there to hear more from & "rub elbows" with the prominent leaders, then from what God directly wanted to say to them. I have a friend that every time that I have the opportunity to spend some time with, I leave feeling like a new person. I leave SO encouraged, because he calls me CHAMPION all of the time. He constantly speaks life into me, he reminds me of the calling of God upon my life, he builds me up… and not for flattery but for encouragement! This gets me thinking... what if our ministries were like this? Where we as the leader of the team [Student Pastor/Young Adult Pastor] would develop our teams appropriately to accomplish one goal... yet not our goal, but Jesus' goal. God is always looking for the YES... from the willing ones, who don't need the fancy things and big productions to accomplish his vision. We have compromised the Gospel of Jesus, for a production of ourselves. We promote ourselves with our agendas/vision, we take all the credit and try to rob God of HIS Glory. Billy Humphrey said something that pierced in my heart, stating that "I'm concerned that the church believes she's living in Philadelphia, not knowing that she actually lives in Laodicea. Help Lord. I mean me too. In general, we have a propensity to believe our lukewarmness is actually fiery faithfulness." God would you empty and remove our pride, arrogance and ego-centric paradigms.
